Put your new website on your domain at Network Solutions
About 15 minutes. You change three settings at Network Solutions. Your domain stays where it is and your email keeps working. Your panel checks each setting for you as you make it.
You need your Network Solutions sign-in: your User ID (or the email address of your account) and password. Keep your SiteSmith panel open in another tab, so you can copy your site's address from its Domain tab.
The three settings
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | www | your site's address — copy it from the Domain tab of your panel |
| A | @ | 137.66.50.77 |
| AAAA | @ | 2a09:8280:1:0:0:1a0:bb93:0 |
@ means the domain itself; some screens call it the "host" or leave it blank. Leave every other setting exactly as it is: your email depends on them.
Step by step
Sign in to Network Solutions
Go to networksolutions.com/my-account/login. You see Log Into Your Account. Type your User ID (or your account's email address) in the box and click Next. On the next screen, type your password and sign in. If Network Solutions sends you a code by text message or email, type that code.

Tap the picture to see it bigger. If Network Solutions forwards your domain: turn it off
In the menu on the left, click Domains, then Manage next to your domain. Scroll to the bottom of your domain's page and click Advanced Tools. No Advanced Tools there? Click Revert to old domain view at the top right first.
Look at Web Forwarding. Do you see an Add Web Forwarding button? Then your domain is not forwarded: go on to the next step. Does it say Forwarding Enabled? Click Manage next to Web Forwarding, then the pencil at the end of the line, then Delete at the top right. Tick the box Yes I want to remove web forwarding from this domain and click Delete. It would otherwise send visitors away from your new site.Open your domain
In the menu on the left, click Domains. A list of your domains opens. Click Manage at the right end of the line with yourbusiness.com (your own domain). If you have only one domain, its page opens by itself.

Tap the picture to see it bigger. Open the DNS tab
Your domain's page opens, with tabs across the top. Click DNS. You see DNS Records, a pale orange box that says changes may cut off your email or website, and a list of lines. That is why you change only the three lines in the table above, and leave every other line as it is.

Tap the picture to see it bigger. Remove the old www line
In the list, find the line with A at the start and www next to it. On many Network Solutions domains it says under construction page. Click the three dots ⋮ at the right end of that line, then Delete, and confirm.
Is the www line a CNAME instead? Leave it: you change it in the next step. No www line at all? Go on to the next step.
Tap the picture to see it bigger. Add the www line
Click the blue + Add Record button above the list. A window opens. Set Type to CNAME. Under Refers to, choose www (never @). In Alias to, paste your site's address from the Domain tab of your panel. Leave TTL as it is and click Add.
Kept a CNAME line with www in the step before? Then click its three dots, Edit, put your site's address in Alias to and click Edit.
Tap the picture to see it bigger. Change the A line for the domain itself
Find the line with A at the start and @ next to it. Click its three dots ⋮, then Edit. In Points to, delete the numbers and type the A value from the table above. Leave the rest as it is and click Edit.
Two A lines with @? Change one, then delete the other: three dots, Delete. Leave A lines with other names, like mail or ftp, as they are. No A line with @? Click + Add Record, set Type to A and Refers to to @, and click Add.
Tap the picture to see it bigger. Set the AAAA line
Many Network Solutions domains already have a line with AAAA and @, at the top of the list. If yours does, click its three dots ⋮, then Edit. If not, click + Add Record and set Type to AAAA and Refers to to @. In Points to, type the AAAA value from the table above. Leave TTL as it is and click Edit (or Add for a new line).
Network Solutions checks AAAA settings before they start working. It says this can take up to two business days. Until then, your panel does not mark that setting done. There is nothing more for you to do.
Tap the picture to see it bigger. Check it in your panel
Go back to your panel, open the Domain tab and click Check my settings again. Each setting says done once the internet sees it. Network Solutions says its DNS changes take up to two hours, and the AAAA setting can take up to two business days, as in the step before. We email you the moment your new site shows on your domain.
Good to know
Is your email at Network Solutions (Professional Email)? Then your panel may ask you to set only the www record for now. Please do just that one; we contact you about your email before the other two.
Do not change your Nameservers, or any line of type MX or TXT. Leave the CNAME lines with other names, like autodiscover, imap or mail, as they are too. Those carry your email.
Network Solutions will not let you change the A line, because your domain is connected to a website there? On your domain's page, open Domain Connections and click Unassign next to the website or hosting service, never next to your email. Not sure which one it is? Ask in your panel's Help tab and we sort it out with you.
Keep your Network Solutions website or hosting plan until your new site shows on your domain. If your email is at Network Solutions, keep the plan that carries it.
Stuck, or not sure?
Open the Help tab in your panel and write what you see, in your own words. We answer within minutes and walk you through it.
Changed your mind? Your panel keeps today's settings. Put them back at Network Solutions and your old website returns, usually within an hour. If you turned off a forwarding or a connection on the way, turn it back on too.
